MERIDIANI AT “CONTEMPORANEI A PALAZZO BORROMEO”

The BONGO coffee tables have been selected as examples of the excellence of Italian design for the exhibition “Contemporanei a Palazzo Borromeo. Arte e design nell’Ambasciata d’Italia presso la Santa Sede”, taking place at Palazzo Borromeo, the Embassy of the Italian Republic to the Holy See, in Rome.

The exhibition, curated by the architect Cristina Mazzantini, was born to explore the close relationship of this prestigious location with the arts and culture; 15 works of art and 10 iconic objects conceived and produced by Italian designers and companies are distributed in the garden, the cloister and the halls of the Palace. In particular, the interiors are dotted with examples of the excellence of Italian design of the last seventy years, to fit perfectly into the existing environments.

The Bongo low tables, designed by Andrea Parisio, pay homage to the culture of Italian design with their organic shape: featured by the base and top fused together, they accompany the simplicity of their curved lines with an extreme versatility in terms of dimensions, following the pattern of the changing sets. Five examples of Bongo low tables are exhibited in the hall of the Salone degli Arazzi of Palazzo Borromeo: with a bronzed brass tops and Elephant-gray shells, they echo the architectural frame and antique furnishings all around.
